Bacteria: The Fundamental Solution
“My doctor says my test results are all normal, but I still don’t feel right.”
“I’m sure something’s wrong with me, but no one can tell me what it is.”
“I’ve taken so many prescriptions, but nothing’s working—what should I do?”
These kinds of statements have become the modern norm—so common, they barely raise an eyebrow.
At the root of the problem lies our widespread habit of outsourcing health to professionals, expecting doctors to resolve all our ailments.
But this expectation is built on a flawed assumption: that every issue can be treated like a tumor to be removed or an organ to be extracted—that medicine can always fix it.
Medical education is undoubtedly important, but the true crisis bred by modern healthcare is the public’s passive dependency.
I call this the “crutch theory”: growing up, I learned deeply that “lean on a mountain, and it will fall; rely on people, and they’ll grow old; the best way is to rely on yourself.”
We often hear which doctor is “the best,” but these stories are usually passed along by gossip—there’s no accountability behind the claims of “miraculous cures.”
When medical tests can’t find the source of pain or discomfort, the root issue usually stems from two sources: emotional/mental imbalance, or side effects from drug interactions.
The former is a reflection of one’s personality and behavioral patterns—often manifesting as stubbornness or emotional repression. Strictly speaking, an over-reliance on medication is also a kind of mental imbalance, revealing an obsession with external fixes.
The mind is a secret garden. Most people only notice the symptoms—like long-term insomnia. Perhaps it started with a single sleeping pill, but years later, no sleeping aid works anymore.
The problem was never the pill, but the initial mindset of avoidance—a desire for quick fixes without accountability.
Even those without sleep issues may rely heavily on painkillers for headaches or neck and shoulder pain. Some types of drug misuse become hidden and unspoken injuries.
Humanity is now facing the consequences of relying on chemicals as the solution. Yet when we choose drugs, we rarely think about bacteria.
Drugs are chemical; bacteria are natural. The relationship between bacteria and the living world is a physical, interactive one.
Scientists studying the gut microbiome of Amazonian tribes discovered an astounding diversity of bacterial life. Compared with the imbalanced gut ecosystems caused by modern food, medication, and additives, we can trace the roots of all “diseases of civilization.”
Looking at today’s health crises from the perspective of the gut, we find a surge in autoimmune diseases, unexplained pain, and symptoms without any identifiable cause.
And still, the medical system clings to steroids to combat autoimmunity, maintaining a superior stance toward all that it cannot explain.
Though the probiotic market is booming, the awareness of bacteria has not truly awakened. Probiotics have simply become another health commodity.
Most people consume probiotics while continuing to damage their gut microbiome with food, drugs, and additives.
We lack a perspective grounded in the gut. We lack a perspective grounded in the body. We don’t understand how our daily choices shape—or destroy—our microbiome.
Bacteria are not only key players in the food and biological chains—they are the very basis of life.
Without bacteria, there is no food. No other living beings.
It’s likely that all human ailments originate from the moment we turned our backs on bacteria.
Only when we re-examine the myth of “man conquers nature” from the humility of human fragility can we begin to understand the true solution.
When you experience unexplained pain, think of bacteria before seeking treatment.
When you notice an imbalance in your microbiome, ask yourself: what does your gut endure every day?
Food, medication, and additives are the primary forces destroying your microbial balance. Once you grasp that, the next question should be: how can I practically change my lifestyle?
The answer is not to buy the most expensive or “best” probiotic while continuing to bombard your gut with harmful substances.
True change comes from mindful reflection. This may come through spiritual practice—or through scientific study.
And the most professional teacher may well be the bacteria within your own body.
Bacteria are the basecamp of mindful thinking. That may sound unbelievable—but your immune system knows. Your neural system knows. Your endocrine system knows.
When you understand your body’s timeline, you’ll grasp the wisdom of fasting.
When you understand fasting, you’ll understand the gut’s position.
When you understand the gut’s position, you’ll begin to comprehend the language of bacteria.
And when you understand the language of bacteria, you’ll finally know what true positive thinking means.
If you feel lost in the world of wellness, begin with fasting. Then, restore your microbiome.
And remember: it’s about the cultivation of daily habits—not academic research.
